Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) remain among the top agenda of Takaful companies today. It is expected to see more active M&A activities in the next few years, attributable to the current rapid growth in the sector as well as recent new regulatory framework particularly the Islamic Financial Services Act (IFSA) 2013. Whilst, M&As would lead to a stronger capital base and competencies of the new entities besides lowering the operational cost, there have been several failures recorded in the past.
